Preschool program at Kensington/Forest Glen:
For children ages 2 to 5
Caring, experienced teaching team
Hours: 6:30 AM to 6:00 PM (extended care option for additional fee: care until 6:30 PM)
Breakfast, lunch, and PM snack provided
The Creative Curriculum® is implemented in these classes
School age before and after school programs at Kensington/Forest Glen:
For children ages 5 to 12 years
Hours: 6:30 AM to 9:15 AM and/or 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM
Breakfast and PM snacks provided
MCPS bus transportation from Flora Singer Elementary School
Meet the Center Director--Kathryn Lin
Kathryn started working for MCCA Garrett Park in 2010 as a school age teacher. She became the lead teacher for the preschool program in 2011 and was promoted to Program Director of that center in 2012.
In 2016, Kathryn was promoted to the Center Director of MCCA Kensington/Forest Glen. Kathryn graduated from Towson University with a degree in Elementary Education. In her free time, she enjoys experimenting in the kitchen, camping in West Virginia, and fishing at the Choptank River. She also enjoys a great football season and can’t wait to see the Redskins make it to the Super Bowl again. She is currently living in Olney, MD.
Meet the Program Director--Alison Howard
Alison has many years of experience working in the field of Early Childhood Education as a teacher of young children and tutors/supports children with special needs. MCCA hired Alison as a preschool teacher in 2011 and promoted her to Preschool Program Director for Kensington/Forest Glen in August 2013. She is majoring in Early Childhood Education/Special Education at Howard Community College. In her free time, Alison enjoys spending time with her family, caring for her dogs, cooking, creating all forms of art and being involved in charities such as the Multiple Sclerosis Society.
